Built in 1869, the bastide on Chemin Engaspaty Méridional in Seillans is home to the history and life of the Blanc family. Our neighbor, so dear to our hearts, Augusta, then 92 years old when we bought the bastide, has lived there all her life and shared her memories with us. His father and his grandfather built this beautiful stone house, working at the Seillans silkworm factory, they raised silkworms in the hollow of the many mulberry trees on the grounds of the bastide. We have chosen to baptize this place of life "Les Mûriers d'Engaspaty" in tribute to this wonderful family of workers with a big heart. Augusta was born in a room in this house and raised her 4 children there. She told us about the old life of the lodges we created, which then housed animals, hay and agricultural tools.

Augusta was very moved to see the second existence that we offered to this space, the new laughter of children, the encounters and sharing that this magical place now offers. Augusta was an exceptional woman, digging her garden at 94, living alone in the countryside in complete autonomy and taking care of her tribe. Our two daughters were lucky enough to adopt a third loving grandmother, living side by side for a few years, playing with her in the shade of these mulberry trees which have seen so many happy family memories pass by in 150 years. Leaving to join some of her family in heaven in 2022, we perpetuate the memory of Augusta and her family by taking care of this incredible place, inviting peace, serenity, connection with nature and heart-to-heart encounters. ..

There were many surprises with this very old building, the sleepless nights to demolish, build, sand, tile, build terraces, plant... We learned, step by step, respecting the rhythm of the seasons, unexpected rains in the middle of pouring exterior concrete screed, droughts or the visit of wild boars just after planting, old leaking pipes requiring everything to be broken just after tiling is finished...
